Forging a team

Veyas was walking down one of Death City's streets, it was oddly empty even though there was a minor nip in the air. "Getting close now, I can smell them." Walking up to one of the many houses, he sniffs the door, the scent of Madeline and her Demon mother Esparata strong on the door. "Alright this has to be the house, or at least they came by here recently" he spoke to himself, in the silence of the street. "Last chance to back out... since when do I back out?" With that, he began knocking, he had business to talk to Madeline and her mom about

A small fennec fox was standing behind Veyas. Suddenly it turned into Madeline she tried to be quiet but suddenly she poked Veyas' head and yelled "BOOOOO!". After that the witch giggled, that giggle turned into laughter, but she calmed down after a short while.

Veyas' immediate reaction makes him grab one of his daggers and begin a draw to spin and slice, but hearing the giggling he laxes his grip on the dagger and puts it in its sheath. -Sigh- "Well at least you're here. Where's your mom?"

Madeline was in weird mood and she wanted to be funny, so she did..um a fish face and said using a funny voice "I dunnoo..Why were ya searching us?"
Well but after a while she smiled and crossed her arms.

"I'm looking for you two because,... well, what do you say to forging a team?" He said taking off his face mask to show a smile. Reaching out his hand, "Are you in?"

Madeline shook his hand "Yeah! Sure!" she said. After she let his hand go, she pointed at the sky "Let's find Espartarata!" The witch exclaimed. Somehow she was thinking about forging a team a few days ago, but she was too lazy to ask.

Walking home from buying groceries she seen Veyas at her door. Why was he there waiting for her. Realizing that he was talking to Madeline was at side almost instantly. " Why are at my home Veyas? Please have a good reason am not in the mood to fight. "
Her voice was void of emotions as she spoke with a cold look in her eyes.

"C-calm down, mom. He's here as our friend! He doesn't wanna fight." Madeline said to defend Veyas. She blushed a little, because it was embarassing. Veyas came here to forge a team with them and Espartarata thinks that he is here to fight.

This was helpful one less person to worry about harming her. Her voice and eyes still the same. " That's good to know if Madeline agrees to this so will I. Just remember to keep your sanity or I'll put you down myself Veyas. " Flying into the house putting the grocery away and sorting where they belong. It showed that she had a bad day.

"Sanity is normally in check, just every now and then there's a switch once. Dont worry though, you kill me, just one more bit of blood shed." Looking at her, "So are you both in?"

She knows it unfair to treat him badly for her problem with today's past. She was just angry with what happened on this day a year ago. Still showing no change in her face or tone of voice. " Sorry I'm a little bit unhappy today forgive me for rudeness please. It wasn't meant for you only the kishins. But yes I will agree to your offer Veyas. "

"Don't worry about, c'est la vie as the french say. I'm assuming your in to Madeline?"

"I said yes, right?" Madeline answered as she crossed her arms. Then she looked at Eapartarata. "Hmm.." Then she whispered to Veyas "I guess she has a bad day." Then she walked over to her mom "Um..did something..uhm .. happened today, mom?" She asked and then she bit her tongue because in her opinion her question sounded..bad.

This was expected and she was already prepared to answer the question. Sorrow filling her soul to the point she had no control of her human form. " Today was the day that the kishin's took him from me. I was forced to kill my own lover. Then watched as he lay dying in my arms. This is why the kishin's must die. " Eyes still cold and voice still void of emotions.

Madeline hugged her tightly and said. "Don't worry! Everything will be fine. The kishin will finally die.." She said, trying to make her mom feel better

With a hollow smile she spoke with care in her voice. Still no control of her demon form. " Thank you sweety without you I go insane dear. I do have one request for agreeing to this deal of a team. You must protect my daughter anytime needed with your life if need be. Please don't have me regret my choice today Veyas. " Slowly changing back into human body. As her temper calmed down a bit.

Madeline was still hugging her. "Oh don't ya worry! Veyas is our friend, right" She said, happily. Honestly it was very embarrasing for her that her mom still doesn't wanna trust Veyas.

"I'd die before anything happens to any of my friends, I've already had enough death in my life time. There's not gonna be any more death if I can do anything about it." His voice calm with a hint of sadness to the end, but his stare could burn a hole through DWMA's doors.

Eyes a bit more relaxed then earlier her voice was still hollow but no longer cold. " Thank you Veyas hearing that my daughter will be protected from harm is ... You don't know what it means to me. " Tears flowing down her cheeks she finally let herself cry. To let herself feel the pain of the passing of her love. Hugging Madeline as she cried out her pain.

"Remember you're part of the pack to, no member is left behind. No trouble is only your own," his state breaking looking away going into thought. "We're gonna need a name for the team," his voice barely over a mutter

Madeline raised her hand "Oh oh! I know I know!" She exclaimed "The defenders od Death City!" The witch smiled and looked at Veyas' eyes "What do you think? Is it a good name for our little team?" Maddie asked

"Better than anything I've come up with, esparata, what do you say?"

Smiling for real this time while laughing. " Go for it I like it as it sounds sweet. " Spinning as she fluttered across the room her wings inseparable from the dark. Her beauty was undeniable in that moment of her happiness.

"So thats that, we got a name, we have a team." Smiling, he ran off towards DWMA to register the team.
