The Neutral Witch

Eliza yawned a bit as she came close to Death City, looking into it and smiling happily. "Soul protect~" she cooed into the air as she stepped into the confines of the city. The young witch smiled as she continued to walk the streets, looking around at all the meisters and weapons, and even the common folk who had no other purpose but just being there.

Most witches were either tilted one way or the other, being good or being evil. Liz however was not, she was a neutral witch, fighting for whoever her soul bonded with the most, whether it was right or wrong. She continued to walk through the streets, her wings that would have been a dead give away were neatly tucked onto her back to look like accessories against her purple dress.

Charlotte lay on top of a building with her head handing slightly off the edge like usual. She was holding a book in front of her with magic and reading, when she saw a girl she had not seen before walk on the street. "Hello there~!" She chimed, waving from the top of the house she was laying on.

Eliza had been softly whistling to herself as she walked, before hearing another being chime out to her and greet her. The teenage witch looked over to Charlotte and lifted her hand, bringing her fingers to her palm and back out in a small wave. "Hiya~" she chimed back, smiling warmly towards the person on the roof.

Charlotte turns onto her back and spins around to sit at the edge of the building she lay on; she grabbed her book from the air and transformed the paving stones below the house into a large cushion as she jumped off. "Haven't seen you around Death City. You new here?" She asks, tilting her head to the side. "By the way, my name is Charlotte." She said, turning the pillow back into stone.

Eliza blinked at Charlotte as she finally saw the floating book, and would the proceed to see her use further magic, turning the stone to cushion and using it as something to fall onto. 'Huh. And I thought I wouldn't see any witches in this city." she thought to herself as she eyed Charlotte up and a down.

"Oh, yes I'm a bit new here, I've visited here before, but I'm thinking about moving here.. I just don't know where to start is all." she replied to the other witch, offering a warm smile, "I'm Eliza, but you can call me just about any variation of that name if you want." she said, keeping the fact she is a witch hidden for now.

Charlotte nods at the girl when she tells her her name. "So, you will probably be joining the school if you move, right?" She asked.

Eliza blinked at Charlotte again, "Oh.. Uhm.. I'm not too sure, I'm not really a meister or a weapon... I'm not sure I could take classes there." she said, keeping motionless in front of the other witch.

"Oh... That's not good. Perhaps you can be a meister, after all? You should check with a weapon, or something."

She shook her head, "Uh.. N-No thank you, I don't think I'd be good at it anyways.." she said, as her wings that had been tucked to her back began to slowly poke out from behind her shoulders, as if they had a mind of their own in a way.

"Hey, what are those?" She asks, pointing to the girls shoulders.

Eliza let out a slight squeak as the wings quickly went back down tight against her back and blending to her dress. "I don't know what you're talking about.." she said, trying to ignore the fact that her wings had come out on their own.

"There's something there!" She exclaimed as she started trying to circle around to the back of the girl.

Eliza gulped a bit and turned with Charlotte, trying to keep her back hidden from her. 'Please don't make me have to break soul protect just to get out of here...' she thought to herself as she continued to try and keep her wings hidden.

Charlotte then got an idea. She turned the paving stones below the girls feet into a thick sticky sludge.

Eliza gasped a bit as the sludge consumed her feet, immediately she panicked and released her soul protect. As soon as her soul become visible to the world around her, Liz sent her tornado down at her own feet to knock her up and out of the sludge.

Once free from the sludge, her wings re-appeared next to her shoulder in mid air suspension. They allowed her to remain in the air with magic.

"Oh no! I didn't want to do that!" she said, concerned as she freaked out even more, hoping her tornado didn't also hurt Charlotte.

Charlotte was blown back by the tornado but caught her footing and started giggling. "You're a witch, too!!" She exclaimed joyously.

Eliza seemed slightly embarrassed, but confused at the same time. "Y-You're not mad..?" she asked, slowly floating down to the ground, staying a few feet above it just in case Charlotte attempted to stick her in sludge again.

"Why would I be mad! Haha!!" She exclaimed again. "You needn't worry! If you're with me nobody will attack you!"

"Oh..Haha~ Okay!" she said, loosening up a little bit and allowing her feet to touch back down onto the ground, "Sorry again about that Charlotte..." she said, apologizing for lying and potentially hurting her by accident.

She nodded again, "Whatever you say~" she said, smiling at Charlotte now, even though it was a half-hearted smile, it was still a smile nonetheless.
